Obituary of Daniel Guinan

Daniel Guinan - Daniel "Danny" Guinan of Verona, NJ died on January 7, 2012 he was 86 years old. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday January 11, 2012 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange at 8:30 AM then to Our Lady of Lourdes Church 1 Eagle Rock Avenue West Orange for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Visiting will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Daniel was born in Ferbane, County Offaly in Ireland on July 22, 1925 to Daniel and Mary Ellen Guinan. He came to the United States in 1949 and lived in New York City. He worked as a tool and dye maker for 41 years at Magnus Tool & Die, Mountainside, NJ. He married Mary Clarke in 1955. They were married for 56 years and had two daughters. Danny had a deep appreciation and love of music. He had a beautiful tenor voice and could play the accordion, trumpet and harmonica. Danny was blessed with a great sense of humor and a charming personality that was loved by all. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus East Orange Council. One of his greatest joys was to see his two grandsons play baseball. He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Mary Ellen and brothers Sean and Kieran. Survivors are his beloved wife Mary (nee Clarke) Guinan, daughter Eileen and her husband Joseph Spano, and two grandsons Joseph and Kevin. Daughter Maureen and husband Denis Fitzgerald, and a host of other relatives here and in Ireland.
