Catherine “Kay” Mary Macaluso, 93

Catherine “Kay” Mary Macaluso, (nee Pittman), 93, of Pompton Plains passed away on Wednesday February 21, 2018.

Visiting will be held on Monday February 26, 2018 from 3:30 to 7:30 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kay’s name to; Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center , PO Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5028, and  St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 14, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.  Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday February 27, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave.  in West Orange. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 742 Rutherford Ave. in Lyndhurst.  

Kay was born in New York City and lived in Jersey City before moving to Pompton Plains.  She worked for Sears in Union City as Division Manager for 18 years. Kay was a member of the Cedar Crest Singers, a prolific painter, enjoyed dancing, big band music, bingo, and a good game of Rummy Cube.

Kay was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Macaluso.  Devoted mother of Joseph Macaluso (Rosa), Linda Bloomer (Ed), and George Macaluso (Craig).  Loving sister of the late William and Harry Pittman. Cherished grandmother of 5, great-grandmother of 10. Long- time companion of the late Ed Hollowell.
