Obituary of John Joseph Gaynor

John Joseph "Jack" Gaynor Jr., 74 John Joseph "Jack" Gaynor Jr., 74, of West Orange passed away on Tuesday February 14, 2017 at his home. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 19, 2017 from 4-8 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jack's name to; VFW National Home for Children, 3573 S. Waverly road, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday February 20, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. West Orange. Cremation will be private. Jack was born in Orange and lived in Livingston for 6 years before moving to West Orange. He was a plumber for the Plumbers Local 122 for 43 years and was also president of the union for several years and was partner with Gately & Gaynor Plumbing & Heating in West Orange for several years before retiring in 2008. Jack proudly served in the United States Army as Corporal from 1964 to 1969. He was member of the Shillelagh Club and was a founding member of the band as well, he was a member the Emerald Society and Band, Cryan's Association, McGovern's Association, the O'Hara Association, the Irish American Society of the Oranges, American Legion Post, Trenton 1000, and the National Rifle Association. Jack was the devoted father of Thomas, Sean and his wife Amber and Patrick and his girlfriend Diana Dandeo. Loving brother of Thomas, Rosemary Longworth, Peter, and the late Kevin. Cherished grandfather of Luke.
