I am sorry for your loss. Many wonder at a time like this if there is any hope for the dead. The question arises because we want to live and we want to enjoy life with those we love. It is only natural that we yearn to see our dead loved ones again. The Bible teaches that most people who have died will be resurrected. Jesus promised that "those in the memorial tombs will come out" (John 5:28, 29). In harmony with God's original purpose, those resurrected to earth will have the opportunity to live on a paradise earth (Luke 23:43). This promised future includes perfect health and everlasting life for obedient mankind. The Bible says: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will reside forever upon it" (Psalm 37:29). I hope these few passages will bring a measure of comfort at this time of grief.

I suspect my father knew Pat very well...he was a dedicated member of the Hopewell Valley Golf Club ("No, it's NOT a Country Club!!") and they must have known each other. Dad was there from about 1960 or so...until 1996 when my parents moved to north Jersey with me. My sympathy for your loss. Golfers are great people...I'm sure they are enjoying perfect weather and the perfect swing now!
