Obituary of Mary Theresa Christoforo

Beloved wife and mother Mary T. Christoforo (née Vassallo) passed away in Secaucus on March 9 after a brief illness.

Mary grew up in Orange, NJ and spent much of her adult life living in West Orange with her family. She attended East Orange Catholic High School, graduating in 1972. She served as the librarian and secretary of Our Lady of Lourdes School and later Saint Cassian's School for many years.

In her retirement, she was an avid knitter and crocheter, and made many outfits and blankets for friends, family, and charity.

She is predeceased by her father, Armando Vassallo. She is survived by her husband John "Buddy" Christoforo, her mother Margaret "Peggy" Vassallo, her daughter Diane and son-in-law Dale, her two grandchildren Enzo and Cady, her brother Michael and sister-in-law Amy, her sisters Peggy and Melissa, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.

She gave her whole heart to her family and will be sorely missed.

A wake will be held at Dangler Funeral Home in West Orange on Friday, March 17, from 3-7pm. A short service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 18 at 11am.
