Obituary of Lucio Toledo Villanueva

Please share a memory of Lucio to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lucio Toledo Villanueva was born on March 28,1935 in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines to Victorio Toledo and Maria Villanueva. The eldest of 9, he started working at a young age to help his family earn a living. He was a diligent student who graduated as a Civil Engineer and worked for the local government in Pasay City Hall to build bridges and roadways.

Lucio, or Junior to his loved ones and friends, was a gentle soul. He enjoyed reading pocket books and listening to classical music. He was a quiet and soft spoken person who let his actions speak for him. His smile and laugh lit up the room wherever he went. He liked to walk around his old Brooklyn neighborhood, doing the laundry, and buying grocery – especially ice cream!

Lucio was a selfless person who prioritized his loved ones’ needs first before his. He knew everyone’s unique needs and always made the effort to provide them even if this meant going out of his way. It was his life’s joy to be able to support and serve his family in every way possible - that was his love language.

Lucio was his family’s pillar of strength and wisdom. Until the very end, he never showed weakness nor allowed anyone to feel burdened. He believed strongly that “Everything happens for a reason.”

His unwavering spirit to keep on continues to inspire the family he is survived by - his wife, Odelinia; his children Susan, Jeanette, Glenda, Russel, Allan, Analyn, Edwin, Wilbert and Leah; his grandchildren Sandy, Amy, Charisse, Eisen, Christine, Camille, Gleiahn, Kazzy, Lorna Victoria, Ivan, Karishma, Bianca, Chezka, and Matthew; and his great grandchildren Janessa, Jazmyne, Justice, Chloe, Cylee , Myo, Aria, Jezycka, Ayden, Leia, Andrey, Robin, and Jiordyn.

“Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed.”
