Thomas Filan
Tom was a retired police Lieutenant of the West Orange, NJ police department having served 25 years of dedicated service. After retirement Tom worked for Enterprise driving one of their "chase cars". Tom moved to Hardeeville, SC in 2017 where the best adventures began. Tom & Bonnie enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Trike, volunteering for various festivals, Samaritan's Purse, church events, traveling, reading, wine tasting, playing cards, Bunco & Dominoes with neighbors and anything history related. Tom was a Harley Davidson (HOG) member. .Tom loved the Lord and was an active member with his beloved wife Bonnie at Live Oak Christian Church in Bluffton, SC. Tom has gone home to live with his Heavenly Father.
Tom was predeceased by his loving wife Valerie Filan (2009) and his mother Barbara Filan (nee Russo). He is survived by his cherished wife Bonnie Filan (nee Brolsma), his father Ronald J. Filan Sr.. Devoted father of Dianna Filan, Laura Filan, John Filan, Matthew Filan , and Sam Brolsma. Loving brother of Maureen Isling, Barbara Ann Filan, Ronald J. Filan Jr., and Patrick Filan.
Memorial Visitation for Tom will be held on September 14, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with words of remembrance at 11:45 AM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange. In lieu of flowers donations in Tom’s name may be sent to: Parkinson’s Foundation, Cancer Society, or any Hospice Organization.
