Mintoy Patricia Sattan, (nee Wong), 76, of Union passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.
Visiting will be held on Friday April 30, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Valley Church, 510 Valley Road in Orange. Interment will follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave. in Colonia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mintoy’s name to: American Cancer Society, 906 South Springfield Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081.
Mintoy was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies, moving to the United States in 1968. She lived in New York, Florida and Maplewood, NJ before moving to Union. Mintoy worked as a Medical Coder at South Shore Hospital in South Beach, Florida. She was a woman of great faith, who dearly loved her family, friends and anyone she met. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and going to the beach.
Mintoy was the beloved wife of the late Harold Sattan. Devoted mother of Harold James Sattan, Jr. and his wife Rosalind, and Sally-Ann Sattan. Loving daughter of the late Evelyn Sheafe and Albert Wong. Loving sister of Lenox, Cassandra, and Shelly, (predeceased-Jenny, Eleanor, Choy, Keloy, Guy, Andy and Lana). Cherished grandmother of Jimmy and his wife Kiara, and Bernie, step-grandmother of Dasejahnae, Daeneesha, and Shaneesha. Great grandmother of Gia, and step-great grandmother of Shyaira, Nevaeh, Louis Jr., Logan, Zoe, and Brielle. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
During the COVID 19 pandemic, all persons entering the Funeral Home will be required to wear a face mask or face covering throughout their stay. Likewise, all social distancing rules must be adhered to. Gathering together in groups should not happen. A continued flow throughout the facility will aid in keeping all of us safe, with everyone having an opportunity to pay their respects.
