Obituary of Jean G. Burke

Jean G. Burke, 82 - Jean G. Burke of Ocean Beach II formerly of West Orange died on Saturday March 27, 2010 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 31, 2010 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange 340 Main Street, West Orange at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com. Visiting will be Tuesday 3-7 PM. Mrs. Burke was born and raised in Rockaway; living in West Orange before moving to Ocean Beach II ten years ago. She was a West Orange Police Matron for the West Orange Police Department as well as a crossing guard in West Orange for many years. Mrs. Burke was also a waitress at Appian Way in Orange, Ann's Clam Bar and Tony's Tap Room, both in West Orange. She was a member of the Moose Family Fraternity Chapter 1248 in Ortley. Mrs. Burke was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Burke Sr. . Devoted mother of Katherine Burke and her husband Michael Wirth, Daniel J. Jr., Lu Ann Shallis and her husband R. Kent, and the late Sean A. Loving sister of Betty Jaeger, Richard Dingman and the late James Dingman. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer and Danny. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
