John Joseph Keogh, 60

 

 

John Joseph Keogh, 60, passed away on July 23, 2020. John was born on May 14, 1960 to Gerard Keogh and Teresa Keogh.

John was proud to work in Local 68 as an Operating Engineer prior to working for the County of Essex before his retirement.  

John was proud of his Irish Heritage and embodied several values: A strong work ethic; kindness; a notable humor; and a perseverance to conquer any life adversities while maintaining a humble down to earth spirit.

John loved his Yorkie, “Jack” as well as his pool; The Jersey Shore; Rock - N – Roll concerts; gardening and fishing. He was also a proud Mets fan.

He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn, as they have been together over 35 years; and their daughter, Melissa Keogh and her partner, Charlie; as well as his loving in- laws.

John is also survived by his 6 siblings, especially Kevin M. Keogh & his family as well as Teresa Ryan (Keogh) and her family; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and loving friends.  

Visiting will be held on Tuesday July 28, 2020 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St., West Orange from 4 to 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday July 29, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 1 Eagle Rock Avenue West Orange, NJ at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 225 Ridgedale Avenue in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to the American Heart Assoc. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com.

During the COVID 19 pandemic, all persons entering the Funeral Home will be required to wear a face mask or face covering throughout their stay. Likewise, all social distancing rules must be adhered to. Gathering together in groups should not happen. A continued flow throughout the facility will aid in keeping all of us safe, with everyone having an opportunity to pay their respects.
