Obituary of Amy Barbara Bowers

 

 

Amy Barbara Bowers (nee Black) passed away on December 29, 2018 at the age of 90. Born on October 17, 1928 in Summit, NJ, Amy was a lifelong resident of New Jersey. She lived for most of her life in East Orange.   After completing school she married and raised five children. She volunteered at and then become a fulltime employee of Chr-Ill Services in East Orange. From that position she worked her way up to Director of the Meals on Wheels program based in Montclair and was there until retiring in 1990 after 30 years of service.

 

 She is predeceased by her husband Charles Major Bowers, (Senior) and youngest son John Clayton Bowers.

 

She is survived by her loving children: Charles and his wife Shirley; Thomas and his wife Florence; Holly and her husband Karl; Paul; daughter-in-law Harriet;  several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

She will be place into eternal rest with her husband, Charles, at Rosedale Cemetery in Montclair, NJ. Interment will be private.
