Sophia Catherine Powell, 87 - Sophia Catherine Powell,(Ridner), 87, of East Orange passed away on Saturday June 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday June 6, 2013 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange. Interment will follow at Succasunna United Methodist Cemetery in Succasunna. Visiting will be Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Sophie was born in Orange and was a lifelong resident of East Orange. She was a home maker. Sophie graduated from Clifford Scott. She was a member of the Eastern Star, she was a Volunteer Auxiliary Police Officer in East Orange, Dispatcher for East Orange Police and an Ambulance driver at Clifford Scott. Sophie was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lee Powell. Devoted mother of Nelson Powell and his wife Phyllis, Sophie Catherine Powell, and Mildred Powell. Loving sister of Etta Schuele and her husband Edward, and the late Willard Ridner. Cherished grandmother of Audrey, Michael, and Stephen. Great-grandmother of Katelyn and Tyler
