Obituary of Nunzie Digaetano

Nunzie “Larry” Digaetano, 91

Nunzie “Larry” Digaetano, 91, of Toms River, formerly of West Orange, passed away on Sunday July 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.  

Visiting will be held on Thursday July 26, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street.   In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to: Tribute Program, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital,P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

The family will also be greeting friends and family on Friday July 27, 2018 from 11:00 to 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover.    

Larry was born in Orange and lived in West Orange before moving to Toms River in 2012.  He was a Fire Captain with the West Orange Fire Department, retiring in 1986. Larry also owned and operated NU LAR, which provided services & sales of C.P.R. Equipment. He was a member of IAFF Local #692, and FMBA Local #228. Mr. Digaetano proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ticonderoga during World War II.

Larry was the beloved husband of Beverly Digaetano (nee Montuore), he was predeceased by his first wife Florence Digaetano (nee Troccoli) of 63 years. Devoted father of Dolores Generallo, and Debbie Anthony and her husband Robert. Cherished grandfather of Deanna Bassett (David), and Ashley Generallo (Vern). Loving great-grandfather of Charlie.
